Our Antimicrobial is a long term surface coating that will create an inhospitable surface environment for germs, bacteria and viruses. The coating is not removed by regular cleaning and disinfecting - providing an additional layer of protection between routine cleans.

 

Our surface programme is an initiative designed to promote peace of mind to occupants of commercial premises, and speed up the process of returning to normal operation and profitability for the business, during and post-pandemic.  For maximum efficiency, we advise a two-stage application, firstly treating surfaces with our antiviral disinfectant, before applying our antimicrobial coating achieving maximum surface protection.

Our formula is a next generation, water-based, long-term antimicrobial
coating designed to inhibit the growth of microorganisms for extended
periods after application.  Unlike disinfectants, that become inactive
once dried,  our surface coating when dry, forms an invisible layer
of “nanospikes” that penetrate and destroy cell membranes.
Due to these “nanospikes”, our product’s process of elimination is
mechanical instead of chemical in comparison with other long-term
solutions such as silver ion and copper.  This is extremely effective in
both high and low traffic areas. 
The active ingredient in the coating is ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) registered and compliant. The coating can be applied to and bonds with almost any surface – porous or non-porous, metal, leather, fabric etc.

Electrostatic Antimicrobial Surface Coating, How does it work?


Electrostatic is the technology* used to dispense the Antimicrobial Coating. The electrostatic process works by using an Electrostatic Sprayer that gives a postive charge to the disinfectant as it exits the nozzle. The charged molecules will repel each other, but will be attracted to the negative surface to which they are applied, providing 360 degree coverage in a way that human hands simply can't, reducing the cross-contamination risk. It is also at least 75% faster than conventional methods of surface coating – saving on labour costs and is cost effective eliminating the overuse of liquid treatments. *(Coulomb's Law)

Remember when you were younger and you rubbed a balloon against your hair? Rubbing the balloon against hair forms an electrostatic force between two surfaces, the ballon takes on electrons from your hair, leaving your hair positively charged and the balloon negatively charged. No, we don't provide other cleaning services. However, we do provide Independent Hygiene and Cleaning Verification and Monitoing Audits and we have recently introduced Covid-19 Surface Testing - one of the first in the UK




How is the Antimicrobial coating removed?


Our coating cannot be removed by normal everyday cleaning and can only be removed with abrasion.

How do I know the Electrostatic treatment has worked?


We do efficacy tests, taking swabs before and after treatment, from surfaces and measure them via an ATP device.

How do we prepare for the Electrostatic treatment?


We suggest a general daily clean and all items that do not require treatment be removed. Unnescessary items can impede the Technican's ability to apply the coating. We also recommend, as a precautionary measure, all pets, fish tanks, reptiles, birds and aquariums be removed prior to treatment. All windows, doors, fans etc should be closed and turned off. In addition:

  • General clutter, rubbish and other items should be removed
  • All food, open containers, dishware and cutlery should be stored away in a safe space
  • Floors to be free of unnescessary items
  • Decorations, such as Birthday or Christmas, to be removed from walls and surfaces




Do we have to vacate the premises and is it safe for pets to return?


We normally ask that the premises are vacated during the treatment with return after 120 minutes. This allows the Antimicrobial Coating to adhere to all the surfaces and to dry and become effective. Yes, it is completely safe for pets to return to the treated area after 120 minutes. However, we do suggest removing fish and aquariams.




To what can the Antimicrobial Coating be applied?


Our coating adheres to a wide variety of surfaces, including metals, plastics, ceramics, timber, carpets and upholstery (does not stain fabric).




What is the difference between the Oxytise Antimicrobial Coating and your Antiviral Disinfectant?


The major difference is our Antimicrobial Coating does not evaporate after being applied. The coating bonds to the surface it has been applied to for 30 days.

Our liquid disinfectant works at the point of disinfection when the surface is wet, but once the disinfectant is wiped off or dried, it is no longer capable of killing any further micro-organisms that may recontaminate the surface. Surfaces can become recontaminated to the same levels as before disinfection within 1 – 2 hours. This is the reason why we use a next generation biocide.
However, to achieve maximum efficiency we recommend a two-stage approach - Disinfection and an Antimicrobial Coating protection.




How long does it take for the Antimicrobial Coating to work and dry?


Our Antimicrobial Coating will work on contact leaving no sticky residue. After a few minutes the coating will be dry to the touch, however, we recommend you allow 2 hours for the coating to completely bond to the surface it has been applied to. Once the application is complete, we close all doors and allow the mist to settle for 2 hours before re-entry.

Is Electrostatic Antimicrobial Surface Coating Protection a replacement for regular cleaning?


No, it does not replace cleaning - this is an additional level of protection that does not only eliminate harmful microorganisms on application but continues to eliminate them all day every day. It complements your existing cleaning arrangement. If a surface is dirty, it must be cleaned beforehand. Dirt and grime create a barrier that will not allow the coating to do its job, so to fully protect your office and work environment, it’s important to clean first and then electrostatically disinfect.




Does the Electrostatic Antimicrobial  Treatment damage any surfaces, electrical or IT equipment?


The Electrostatic Treatment can be safely performed around electronic equipment such as laptops, monitors and keyboards, so long as it is not applied directly at close range.
We recommend removing paper documents, along with anything else you don’t want sprayed, before the scheduled service.




How long does the Electrostatic process take?


The amount of time required is highly dependent on the size and type of area to be coated with our surface protection. For example an open warehouse will require less time than a typical office with a high concentration of furntiure and IT equipment. It is important to follow application instructions to allow the coating to work effectively.




Do you offer a One Time Service or a Programme of Treatment?


We offer a flexible approach, from a single treatment to a programme of regualr application, So, for example if you were purchasing or moving to a new home you may want to opt for the stand alone application. However, if you were a restaurant or hairdresser, with regular customers you may wish to chose a more frequent programme.
